July 23th: Squirrel plays Spiderman
I came back from the grocery store this afternoon, and when I got out of the car I heard Squirrel screaming at the top of his lungs. The sun was very bright, and when I looked up I couldn't figure out where he was. But then I finally saw him, clinging to the front of the house like Spiderman, upside down, and twenty feet up in the air.
"What's up Squirrel, um, besides you?" I said, trying very hard not to laugh now that I knew he wasn't being hurt.
"Very funny, Al. While you were out, Fluffy White Cat tried to eat me again. There she goes now," he said, looking down the driveway. I turned to look and saw the big white cat running away from the house.
"Well, come on down now, she's gone. I got some peanut butter at the store, and I'll split a sandwich with you," I said while opening the cabin door. Then looking up at him I added "I knew you could climb trees, but I never knew you could go straight up the side of a house like that."
"Me either," he said, looking around, trying to figure out how he was going to get back down.
